The SlingPlayer app for iOS and Android now supports Chromecast. Watching live and recorded television on the go has always been an integral part of the software's core functionalities, but SlingTV customers and owners of the Slingbox M1, 350, and 500 will now be able to cast content directly to any TV connected to a Chromecast dongle.
Sling is already accessible from a vast swathe of devices, including the Apple TV and Roku set-top boxes, but Chromecast support has been noticeably lacking since Google launched the budget dongle last year. For now, the new feature is limited to iPad, iPhone, and Android phones, but Sling Media promises the Android tablet app will be updated "soon."
